All writers are treated with equal importance; after all, neither Plato nor Aristotle had letters after their names.

This page is a beacon of light and hope for free speech and, ultimately, mankind.

The Historian

David Irving is one of the most widely read — and most controversial — historians of the Second World War. Over five decades, he has produced more than thirty books, many translated into dozens of languages, based on years of research in archives across Europe and the Americas.

What distinguished Irving's method from the start was his insistence on primary sources: the private diaries, personal papers, unpublished manuscripts, and government documents that other historians had overlooked or been unable to access. He personally located and obtained the diaries of Rommel's physician, the personal staff files of Heinrich Himmler, the private papers of numerous German and Allied commanders, and thousands of other previously untapped documents.

His first book, The Destruction of Dresden (1963), written when he was twenty-four, became an international bestseller and helped establish the firebombing of Dresden as a subject of serious historical debate. Hitler's War (1977) was described by Professor Hugh Trevor-Roper as "a historical phenomenon."
