Zündel now calling U.S. home
BY ANDREW
MITROVICA
Holocaust denier Ernst Zündel has moved on. Mr. Zündel is now calling the
United States home, claiming he is the latest example of Canada’s “brain drain” to a more hospitable land.
In a letter this month to the Canadian
Human Rights Tribunal, Mr. Zündel’s lawyer, Barbara Kulaszka, wrote that “he has moved to the United States where he now makes his permanent residence with his wife, Ingrid Rimland.
Unfortunately, the Canadian ‘brain drain’ continues unabated.”
Mr. Zündel’s departure from Canada has been rumoured for many months, but Ms.
Kulaszka’s letter offers the first confirmation of his exit. Police sources say that Mr. Zündel and his wife may be living in Tennessee.
Mr. Zündel and Ms. Kulaszka were unavailable for comment yesterday.
Word of Mr. Zündel’s migration south was welcomed by the Canadian
Jewish Congress, a persistent foe of the 54-year-old’s Holocaust-denial propaganda.
“We have worked very hard to ensure that Mr. Zündel and his ilk do not continue to see Canada as a haven for
Holocaust deniers,” said Keith
Landy, Ontario chairman of the
Canadian Jewish Congress. “We have been vigilant and determined that people like
Mr. Zündel don’t live a comfortable life is Canada when they are purveyors of falsehoods and lies.”
