WE
WERE wondering why Lipstadt did not have the courtesy to address the British High
Court. We wrongly suspected that she did not have the courage to go into the witness box for cross-examination. Now we know: like many other women scholars, she puts a price on her efforts. $10 in advance in her case, or $15 at the door. I am sure those in the High Court would have been happy to pass the hat around, to hear her speak.
Perhaps some Los Angelinos in her audience will have sufficient curiosity to ask her why she did not testify.
