Documents on Auschwitz
Robert van Pelt
eminent
Dutch author of Auschwitz from 1270 to the Present
(Yale
University Press)
Robert
Jan van Pelt,
Professor of Cultural History, School of Architecture,
University of Waterloo, Ontario Canada N2L 3G1
Focus,
No. 8/1999
Seite 134:
»Große Aufmerksamkeit hat das
Buch [von Van Pelt und Dwork,
Auschwitz – 1270
bis heute] in Amerika und
Europa gefunden.
David
Irving notes:
In Germany, a country which has not had much luck with its legal systems this last century, the prosecution is permitted to call expert witnesses, which the defendants in these cases are denied. I was not even allowed to call Franciszek Piper, director of the Auschwitz state archives, as witness! In Germany even defence
lawyers are prosecuted for doing their job, as this technically makes them “deniers” too…
Since the bombastic
Jan Van Pelt will certainly be called as an expert witness by Professor Lipstadt’s defence lawyers, I invite my many friends in the academic world to contribute now what they know about this Holocaust scholar.
