. Oxford University students cancel yet another invitation to Mr Irving London (UK)Richard Warren of an Oxford University college invites me to speak to his society: “I am an undergraduate at Oxford and I run a student society called ‘the society of Enoch’, a non-religious circle whose aim is the promotion and understanding of alternative philosophies and ways of thinking generally, for what I believe to be to the greater benefit of my fellow
students. I am currently trying to find speakers to come and give a talk to our society, and I was wondering if you might be interested? You would be most welcome to speak on any topic you chose, but I would be fascinated to hear your perspective and philosophy upon the ways we look at history, if you would be willing to do so.”I reply: “I will be happy to come at my own expense. I will talk about the problems of writing a biography of Hitler and top Nazis.
You can call it The Final Solution finally solved, if you like. Dates: I am out of the UK from mid November onward; in Greece for four days October 23-ish.
Suggest a date.”David Irving: “Wednesday Oct 19th is fine, and questions are okay” Oxford students: “Apologies about this but unfortunately it has become apparent that we will be unable to host your talk, sorry for the inconvenience and thank you,Richard Warren3:17 pm :David Irving repliesIT would be nice and indeed courteous to receive some more detailed explanation as to what has intervened to prevent your friends from hearing my talk.
After all, your invitation resulted in my holding a day open for your meeting, which now therefore is a wasted day, in a very tight and busy schedule. . .
