by Adi Shalem FORMER Minister of Science and Energy, Gonen Segev was indicted Sunday on charges of possession of drugs, attempting to smuggle drugs and conspiring to commit a crime. Other indictments were filed at the Tel-Aviv District court against Segev’s cousin, Moshe Werner , and attorney Ariel Freedman for their alleged part in the affair.
Segev is also charged with using an expired passport — about a month ago he presented the Dutch Border Authorities with a diplomatic passport from the period he served as a minister. Segev was briefly detained by the Dutch authorities over the expired passport but was then released and allowed to continue his journey to Israel.
