Real History: Dr John Fox, Holocaust expert The Letter from David Irving to Dr John P Fox, Holocaust expert, January 28, 1998, concerning the Rudolf Brandt diary The final paragraph is a reference to the controversy aroused by Christian Gerlach’s assertions that Hitler gave the Order to liquidate Jews on or about December 12, 1941. again your newsletter Dear John Thanks for the stuff. You might download the Zündel testimony to me sometime (or: tell me what site it is on).

Martin Bormann’s diary for December 12, 1941 says: 15 Uhr Empfang Mussert und Vereidigung 16,30 Uhr der Führer empfängt bis 19 Uhr die Rechsleiter und Gauleiter.

For your itinerary of Himmler , you or your friends might also look at the KTB FHQu (I have a Xerox of it here); and you must consult the 84 page stenographic diary of Heinrich Himmler’s personal Referent SS-Sturmbannführer Dr Rudolf Brandt, 30.1.1942 (now file Bundesarchiv NS19/Zug.DC/13), which was transcribed by the FHQu stenographer Dr Gerhard Herrgesell in 1978 at my instance. I attach a few pages of excerpts which I made not long ago. I have original and transcript here in photocopy.

I transcribed the whole of the Koeppen Berichte in about 1970 and gave the top copy to the Sammlung Irving at Institut für Zeitgeschichte. I have it on NA microfilm here. I personally think it improbable that the Führer would have imparted word of such an Order on any occasion to the gauleiters, whom he held in generally low esteem.

I think they were kept in the dark until Himmler briefed them in general terms at Posen in October 1943 (why would Himmler have had to do so, if they knew already from Hitler’s own mouth in1941!?). Hanke told Speer something – we don’t know what – and Hoffmann and Bracht visited Auschwitz in 1941/2 with Himmler. Hoffmann was interrogated by BAOR about this. David Irving 1998
