"We
must eradicate Mr Irving's legitimacy as an
historian"
AFTER a three week imprisonment
and immigration hearing which began in Vancouver BC
(left), and ended in Niagara Falls, Ontario, the
adjudicator Kenneth Thompson (not a judge, he had
an immigration, not a legal background), accused writer
David Irving of a minor technical violation of
immigration law, and he was bundled out of the country.
The Chief Immigration officer at Toronto's Pearson
airport had followed the televised court hearings. He
apologised to Irving in person: "I have a copy of your
book on the Hungarian Uprising,"
he said. "The Minister himself phoned this afternoon" --
indicated the phone on his desk -- "and asked to be told
the moment the plane with you on board had taken off." --
