Dear Mr. Irving: You may recall that you and I corresponded earlier in
the year concerning possible knowledge that you might
have with respect to the Oklahoma
City bombing. You may recall that I represent Tim
McVeigh. I must admit that I was not aware, or had forgotten,
that you are the author of three books that I very much
admire. I was in London recently and was at Foyles and
found a copy of the hook, Uprising,
and noticed that you are also the same author of
Accident--The
Death of General Sikorski and Trail
of the Fox, The Life of Field Marshal Erwin
Rommel, I have both of the latter two books, have
read them with great interest, and very much admire the
scholarship reflected. I was not aware of the book
Uprising
until I saw it at Foyles. I purchased a copy and read it
on the plane coming back. The events in Poland and
Hungary in 1956 have always fascinated me and your
account of Hungarian Revolution is truly outstanding. I
would hope that it might be possible for me, at my
expense, to send one of these books to you for your
autograph. Perhaps the next time I am in London you would be my
guest for lunch. Sincerely [sgd] S
