Brookie and his diaries
I am puzzled that you describe the Alanbrooke Diaries [of Field-Marshal Sir Alan Brooke] as being previously censored and suppressed. The complete handwritten originals have been available to the diligent at King's College for thirty years or more. I researched them in the 1970s, quoted them extensively in the first volume of Churchill's War in 1987, and do so again in the second volume, Triumph in Adversity, published next month (downloaded already by 3,000 readers from the internet in the last few months).
