Hitler's most secret weapon, unused

IT is my understanding that the Germans had nerve gas that the Allies had no defense for. How come Hitler did not use it? Could not this weapon have changed the tide of the war?

HITLER told his generals (my source is one of them, Field Marshal Erhard Milch) that he would never be the first to use poison gas, having signed the Geneva Protocol on its use.
