  David Irving to Ian Kershaw

London, March 3, 1999

Dear Prof. Kershaw

thank you for your letter of December 17 (I plead absence from the UK for the delay). We hope to get a new edition of Hitler's War out soon. I have heard many favourable voices from the USA about your own book; the reading public's appetite for Hitler seems insatiable.

I may write to you again in a few days about experts. I shall need to marshal a platoon of experts for a High Court libel action, who can advise the judge on the changing meaning of wartime German words, etc. Have you any idea about a suitable linguist, as opposed to an historian? I don't mind what his views are, it is expertise that I am looking for.

Yours sincerely,

David Irving
