Himmler's Past

Generalmajor Vaterrodt [Wehrmachtkdtr Strasbourg] commented to Oberst Reimann [PzGren Regt 86] that few people were aware that Himmler was a member of the Soldier's Council after the 1914/1918 war and had personally torn the epaulettes from the shoulders of officers, although at the time he himself held the rank of Fähnrich.
