Information dated 13-14 AUG 1944 [...] ". . .(b) STAUFFENBERG. Generalleutnant v Broich has received a further letter from his wife (Cf GRGG 171 section VII) dated 12 Jun 44 and stating that she hopes General Cramer (ex-PW) would be successful in his project of arranging a meeting between her and Stauffenberg. A letter dated 7 Jul 44 makes no reference to any meeting with either of those mentioned. Generalleutnant v. Broich has also had a letter, dated 29 May 44, from Fräulein Louise von Benda [*] who is on Mussolini's staff, from lake Garda in Northern Italy. She states that she visited Stauffenberg in Berlin some time before and found him 'very busy but happy to be able to do his bit.' He sent greetings to v. Broich. [...] BY C.S.D.I.C.
