IN VARIOUS speeches in Canada and the USA around 1989,
Mr Irving often underlined the faking ("reconstruction")
of the gas chamber at Auschwitz I, by stating:
"In fact more women died on the back seat of
Senator Edward Kennedy's car in Chappaquiddick
than ever died in the gas chamber they show the
tourists at Auschwitz."
This has been abbreviated by the Traditional Enemies
to read: "More women died on the back seat of Senator
Edward Kennedy's car in Chappaquiddick than ever died in
a gas chamber at Auschwitz."
IN 1995 the Polish Government finally
admitted to French journalists that the building
concerned was erected in 1948, three years after World
War II ended, as a tourist attraction. (It is however
still a criminal offence in Germany to describe it as a
fake).
