Dear Sirs,

Lukacs BookI understand from hearsay that your firm is to publish John Lukács's latest work. If it is the work known in the United States as The Hitler of History then I would ask you to read the attached letter which I sent at the time the book was published in the United States to his U.S. publisher, drawing attention to serious libels contained in the work.

Like Gitta Sereny, Mr Lukács has a record of seeking to defame me (I have a dossier on this.) You will be aware by now that I do not hesitate to proceed against libels in the British courts. It may be that your solicitors have already read the work and have required the author to clean it up; alternatively, it may be that he made no attempt to draw your attention to the problematic nature of his text, in which case you should forward this letter to your solicitors immediately. It is not of course my intention to prevent the publication of this work in a suitable form, merely to avoid problems between your firm, which has published several of my works in the past, and myself.

Yours sincerely,

David Irving
